ISCE 2023

Poster Guidelines

A. Preparing Your Poster

1. Material used for the Poster

ISCE 2023 prefers posters to be large single sheet of paper or flex material that can be rolled and carried in a tube. However, if you do not have facilities for making a single sheet, then making your poster using several sheets of normal A4 or Letter stationary is acceptable.

2. Orientation and Size

The orientation of the poster is vertical (Portrait mode). The maximum size of your poster should be A0 format or 84.cm wide x 118 cm tall . Do not exceed these size limits.

3. Symposium Name

The name of the Symposium of which your poster is a part should be at the very top of your poster. The Symposium name should be in letters at least 1 inch high. The Symposium name should be in black letters on white background.

The names of the Symposia have changed from the names under which you submitted your abstract. The ISCE 2023 Secretariat has emailed you the name of the symposium of your poster.

4. Poster Title

Place this under the Symposium Name. It should be the same as the title of your abstract. It should be in black letters on a yellow background band to distinguish it from the Symposium title.

5. General Poster Design Tips

Other than the above Requirements for Symposium name and Poster Title, ISCE 2023 does not impose any restrictions on the formatting of your poster. We encourage you to be creative. However, do keep in mind that:

  • Your poster text should be legible from a distance of 3 feet.
  • Avoid rows of closely spaced text. You should prefer to explain details verbally rather than have visitors read small text on the poster boards.
  • Colours should be used to establish differences.
  • Charts and diagrams are very useful.

6. Print

Please print your poster in advance and bring it to the conference with you. The poster area does not have a printing facility.

B. Displaying Your Poster

1. Poster Boards

ISCE will provide poster boards in the NSSC lobby. These will be soft boards with a cloth surfaces. Use thumbtacks to pin the four corners of your poster to the board.

2. Poster Board number

Each poster board will have a number at the top of the frame. Your poster board number is in the same email that carried your Symposium name. Pin your poster on the board with your number. Posters of the same symposium will be placed next to each other, so you neighbour will be a colleague with the same interests.

3. Mounting and Removing your Poster

You are expected to put up and take down your poster yourself. Staff will help physically challenged presenters. Please bring your thumbtacks with you to save time. The Poster Help Desk will also have a supply.

You may mount your poster any time before the first poster session on 3.45 pm on Monday 24 July.

Your Poster will be displayed continuously for two days. You may leave it on the board overnight.

Please remove your poster at 6 pm on Tuesday 25 July. ISCE 2023 cannot be responsible for posters left behind after that time.

4. Poster Session requires Physical Presence

Please be present in front of your poster during the poster sessions. As of now these are scheduled on Monday 24 July and Tuesday 25 July from 3:45 pm – 4.45 pm. Please check the online Programme for any change.
